October Blog a Day Challenge – 7
10 favourite foods
Food is such a huge part of all our lives. Sitting down for a meal with friends, family, and loved ones build bonds and make memories for everyone. I love all foods, and recently I have gotten into eating spicy food which is something that I have not had much experience in. But it is something I want to experience more of moving forward. This is list is in no particular order, every day is different, and the cravings change so often with food. One night all I want is steak and a deep red glass of wine, another night I could eat all the fruit all night long. After being alone for so long post-divorce, the solo dinners have been multiple; the experience of being able to sit with someone across from you having a conversation and sharing a meal is lost on so many. Do not waste any time you have to build lasting relationships with your loved ones at the dinner table, or over a desert, or even sharing a bowl of truffle popcorn during a movie.
- Meat (Steak, salmon, chicken, ribs)
- Eggs benedict
- Fruit (all fruit)
- Cucumber salad with oil and red wine vinegar
- Dairy Queen soft ice cream
- Nona’s apple pie
- Cheese bread
With Thanksgiving coming up next week, take this opportunity to enjoy the people you are breaking bread with. Take this opportunity to create memories and smiles with the person beside you. These are special moments, and too many times are wasted.
